3 Unusual Resolutions to Start The New Year

Happy Friday Goodwill family! It’s the LAST Friday of the year! Are you happy with the way 2016 turned out? Did you solve all your resolutions? Are you all set for your new one’s? We are!

Normally I’d wait till December 31, at 11:59:59 pm to make probably a thousand resolutions. Whether it’s to lose weight, change my hair color, or maybe sky dive on my birthday (still haven’t solved that one yet!). But as I got older I started to really think long and hard over these resolutions and how vain they started to sound. Don’t get me wrong, self-love is the best love year ’round, but how will it affect the ever changing world around us? Will getting my hair colored help a person find a job? or make someone’s day brighter? Why even wait until January 1st to color my hair? Beside the question, I drafted three resolutions to add to our daily routine that could affect others in a more positive way.

Give More:

donate-movement

As we head into January, known as “National Get Organized Month”, take the time out to declutter your life (or closet) and donate to any of our Facilities. Goodwill relies upon the sales of donated items to create jobs and fund our job training programs for people with disabilities, disadvantages, and other barriers to employment. In fact, 93 cents of every dollar goes into funding these programs. Simply put, your donations help us create jobs and put people back to work, and we believe that work has the power to transform lives. To find a donation station, click here.
