Terry Baker was named Goodwill North Central Texas’ 2022 Achiever of the Year. This award recognizes a participant of a Workforce Development Program who has shown significant progress and accomplishment overcoming barriers to his or her employment.
Terry came to Goodwill seeking new direction after trying various careers. He enrolled in North Texas Institute for Career Development (NTI)’s CDL Professional Truck Driver course and worked with Goodwill staff to earn his CDL license.

Following a brief tenure with another company, Terry received word that Goodwill was seeking truck drivers for its Donated Goods & Retail department.
Throughout his time at Goodwill Terry received praise for his work-ethic and relationship with retail team members he would interact with during drives. Soon after, he would be recruited by NTI staff to help future truck drivers earn their CDL licenses as a course instructor.
