FORT WORTH, TEXAS (November 22, 2024) – The 17th annual Goodwill Classic was held on Monday, November 4 at Ridglea Country Club, raising $76,515 for Goodwill North Central Texas, an organization that helps rebuild countless lives through its job training and placement programs.
Billed as a “Tournament of Excellence,” the golf scramble hosted more than 120 golfers, along with Goodwill Board of Directors and sponsors of the Goodwill Classic. All proceeds from the tournament support Goodwill mission services focusing on the homeless (GoodwillWorks), at-risk youth (E-Squared), veterans (VetWorthy), the disadvantaged and the disabled (S.T.A.R.S.).
“The Goodwill Classic was more than just a day of golf—it’s a way to help fund our mission to create opportunities for those facing barriers to employment,” said David Cox, President & CEO of Goodwill North Central Texas. “The generosity of our participants and sponsors allows us to fund programs that empower individuals with the skills and resources they need to achieve independence and transform their lives.”
Since its inception in 2008, more than $2 million was raised by the golf tournament. In 2023, 11,921 lives were touched through Goodwill’s Workforce Development Programs.
