Shae Lee

On December 1st, 2014, Shae Lee exited SAFE P, a substance abuse treatment facility, ready to fight for a brighter future. After battling addiction for eight years, she needed a hand up if she was going to succeed professionally, personally or reunite with her family. Once she was released, she enrolled in a local outreach program and learned about a job fair hosted by Goodwill. She applied, was hired and began working at a retail store.

With a strong sense of determination, she was promoted multiple times through Goodwill’s Donated Goods & Retail team. After becoming manager of the Altamesa retail store, she was able to provide for her children and knew there were other areas where she could improve. Shae enrolled in Goodwill’s Digital Career Accelerator, where she learned computer basics and earned certifications through Goodwill’s partnership with Google. These skills assisted in her role as manager and gave her confidence to continue forward…. This is her story.
