Note: This is a follow up to our Workforce Development Success Story from June.
Aldalynn Leslie-Heaps understands the value of hard work. With help from Goodwill Staffing Services (GSS) and community partners, she found her opportunity for success! Addy went to work as a janitor at the University of Texas at Arlington on a temporary contract through GSS and was soon hired on permanently.
In recognition of her accomplishments since being hired in April, Addy was invited to the Artie Lin Awards, hosted through WorkQuest, to celebrate those employed through WorksWonders contracts. WorksWonders is a mutually beneficial partnership involving Texans with disabilities and the state and local government entities that purchase the products, services and temporary employment services they offer through statewide Community Rehabilitation Programs such as Goodwill North Central Texas.
Addy was presented with the President’s Award at this year’s annual dinner on September 13, which featured keynote speaker and former Dallas Cowboy Daryl “Moose” Johnston. Her success was further celebrated when GSS Staff Jennifer Moore, Mandy Mann and VP of GSS and Facility Based Contracts Kimberly Smith presented her with a football signed by Moose himself. Congratulations Addy!
