In early 2025, Fort Worth native Angel Perez found himself navigating an unexpected career setback. After years of working as a Program Manager with a strong background in project management, cloud software, and AI integration, Angel was laid off. Suddenly, his experience didn’t feel like enough in a job market where digital transformation and AI innovation were evolving at lightning speed.
The layoff took a toll, not only on his financial stability but also on his confidence. By March 2025, he had successfully completed the Google Project Management Certification through the Digital Career Accelerator. With newly sharpened skills and a renewed sense of confidence, Angel secured a role as Senior Project Manager at a new company. He now leads large-scale software implementation projects and oversees data integration work—putting his new skills to use every day.
