Christmas Sweater DIY

Christmas shirts and sweaters are flying off the shelves, but not to worry. Get creative this year with some quick DIY Christmas Sweaters!

With one trip to the Goodwill Store in Bedford, plenty of new and donated Christmas items are available to accessorize.

Sweaters

Start off with a sweater, any sweater!

With countless long sleeves in many colors, it is easy to find one to decorate if you prefer not to use any you already own.

The gray and teal long sleeve shirts used for this DIY were $4.49 each.

Donated Seasonal Décor

As for the donated goods, each of the items were .99 cents!

A few of the items include a roll of red ornaments, mini silver ornaments, ornaments of all shapes and colors, a Santa Claus hat, a bag of bows, green shiny ribbon, material, and a mistletoe. All of these accessories came to $6.93.

New Good Seasonal Décor

There are also a few new good item options such as the Santa hair stickers ($2.89),

snowman kit ($3.59), and Christmas tree hat ($1.89).

No Sew DIY

The sweaters required the following materials:

  • tacky glue
  • hot glue gun
  • glue sticks
  • scissors

Gifts around the Tree Sweater

The Christmas Tree Hat, a bag of bows, and shiny green ribbon were used for this DIY Christmas sweater.

Half of the hat decorations are cut off and taken out for easier gluing. The shiny tinsel from the hat was then used to stick all around the end of the sleeves.

The ribbon is measured and glued with tacky glue at the bottom of the front and back of the sweater.

Lastly, gift bows are hot glued and placed all around the rest of the sweater and sleeves.

Christmas Tree Sweater

For this sweater, since the color similarly represented a tree, all of the ornaments are used to glue all around with the hot glue gun.

Tip: Be sure to place material or board between the sweater to prevent the sweater from gluing together.

Tinsel could be added to make it even more festive!

Both sweaters, along with all decorations used came to less than $20 at Goodwill!
