While you might be most familiar with Goodwill’s thrift stores, you may be surprised to learn what goes on behind the scenes — and why we do it.
When your donation goes home with a new purpose, the money we raised from that sale is then put into education, training and job placement programs that help others start new lives. People come to us for services like career navigation, skills training and job placement. We also help them access other support services to address any other critical needs, such as childcare or transportation.
In fact, more than two million people used Goodwill services last year. That’s more than two million people who can pursue higher-wage employment to support themselves and their families because of supporters like you.
Let that sink in.
We’re always in awe of the ripple effect Goodwill services can have on our communities. When someone finds a job or takes the next step in their career, positive change results.
