Gear up for Digital Learning Day! Celebrated nationwide on the last Thursday of February, Digital Learning Day originated in 2012 by the Alliance for Excellent Education. Digital Learning Day is dedicated to enriching the digital world by empowering peers to make sure they are knowledgeable about modern technology. Whether you’re a teacher or a student, strap in as we dive into various ways to celebrate this tech-savvy holiday!

  1. Listen to a Podcast: Many informative podcasts are available. Is there a hobby you want to dive into but are unsure where to begin? How about going the extra mile to fine-tune your professional skills? There’s a podcast waiting for you! Due to the audible nature of podcasts, they’re great to listen to while jogging, driving, cleaning and more!
  2. Enroll in a Class: Feel intimidated by software and smartphones? Digital Learning Day is a great day to step out of your comfort zone and expand your tech knowledge! Goodwill’s Digital Career Accelerator helps get you up to speed on the latest technology, train you to excel in your career or learn new ways of completing tasks. Learn crucial skills in Microsoft Office, email, smartphone usage and more! Gaining these skills helps you accomplish everyday tasks efficiently as well as land the job you want or advance your career. Sessions are free and offered in English and Spanish, find a class that best suits your schedule with our upcoming events calendar!
  3. Take a Virtual Class with NTI: Complement Digital Learning Day by registering for virtual classes! With the advancement of technology, learning has become more convenient than ever. North Texas Institute provides certifications in the medical and IT fields that can be achieved from the comfort of your home. These certifications can land you a job as a medical front office assistant, medical billing specialist, network support technician, computer repair specialist and more! Take the virtual leap and get started on your career path!
  4. Practice Internet Safety: Internet safety is often overlooked, but it is something that every Internet user should be aware of. Locking your devices, two-step authentication and implementing a VPN are all great ways to put your mind at ease knowing that you have added protection in your digital space.
  5. Share Your Knowledge: Spread the wisdom! If you’re knowledgeable about an aspect of the digital world, consider providing insight to users looking to expand their skill set. This can include making YouTube videos, providing information through social media, starting a blog and more!
  6. Jump into Software: Applications can be daunting due to their endless possibilities. There’s no better day to throw yourself into the mist of things than today!
